2025 Wedding trends
Wedding trends for 2025 are shaping up to focus on stylish venue dressing, micro weddings and bold colourways.
Hi, my name is Amanda, I’m a wedding celebrant and just like last year, I’m here to guide you through some of the key trends you can expect to see for 2025 and beyond;
Micro Weddings: Smaller, more intimate weddings will be popular, with a focus on quality over quantity. This trend allows for more personal connections, allowing you to spend your day with those you are closest to.
Bold Wedding Colours: The move away from less neutral colourways into vibrant, bold colour palettes, including rich jewel tones and deep, moody hues (think emerald, ruby, and navy), will be trending in wedding décor, florals, and attire.
Alternative Wedding Venues: Couples will continue to embrace unique and unconventional wedding venues, such as art galleries, tipi’s, forests, warehouses, and even private homes, moving away from traditional banquet halls & hotels.
Dressing with drapes: Dressing the venue with bold drapes continues to build as we see more textures and materials and heavily draped layers
Traditional rectangle tables are being replaced with caterpillar or serpentine shaped table seating where the space allows. This gives your guest a cosier dining experience and creates interest and amazing photo opportunities. Smaller tables can offer more intimate time for guests and extend to a sweetheart dining table just for the couple. Allowing you to take time for yourselves during your wedding breakfast, whilst seeing your guests enjoy all you have created. I often suggest horseshoe seating for the ceremony too, where space allows, to give the guests a cosier feel of surrounding the couple during the ceremony.
Use of timeless black ; to add accents to your day be that invites, venue dressing or bridal party attire it really does look stunning. Just recently I led a wedding where the bridesmaids wore black: they looked beautiful and classy and allowed the bouquets pop against the dresses.
Statement Wedding Dresses: Bridal fashion will showcase bold designs, with statement dresses featuring oversized bows, dramatic sleeves, intricate beadwork, or even colourful gowns instead of traditional white. Mini dresses are also on trend for a vintage sixties look.
Signature toast or shot: Allow your personality to shine while your guests toast you with your favourite shot. Alternatives could be where you both drink from the quaich (loving cup tradition of a two-handed vessel you both drink from during the ceremony to represent trust, on both parts and that you two become one) I have a wedding in 2026 where we’ve already planned that we will raise a baby Guinness during the ceremony with the couple……it will be a first for me but what’s not to love?!
These trends reflect a desire for meaningful and memorable weddings, where couples put their personal touch on every aspect, from the venue and décor to the guest experience and attire.
However you plan your day choose a celebrant that reflects your plans and brings energy and vibrancy to your day…….your ceremony – your way!
