Autumn Musings

As the nights draw in it’s a timely reminder to take things a little slower. Embrace the darkness with candles, soft lamplight or twinkly lights.

Personally, my Christmas lights remain draped over the stairway hand rail, they illuminate the space and give such a beautiful glow.

Take time to acknowledge the time of year by creating your own rituals for the season; wrap up warm for a walk feeling the leaves under your feet, look up to see and hear the geese preparing to migrate. Bake your favourite spiced recipe, perhaps comforting ginger loaf or spiced gingerbread.

Find a warm corner inside to relax with a good book or venture outside keeping cosy by your firepit, coupled with a with a hot chocolate for a taste of hygge. Leaf and bark rubbings are a simple way to capture the feel of autumn for all ages, and only need a crayon and paper.

However you spend your Autumn I hope you truly enjoy it. The seasons move by swiftly, soon the sense of Christmas will take over as winter beckons onthe 22 nd of December.
